Recovery starts with the right process.
Two plants with the same capacity can recover very different amounts of gold. The difference is usually the process: the wrong separation method for an ore leaves value in the tailings.
Ore processing turns mined rock into a concentrate ready for refining. The ore is crushed, ground to a fine powder, sorted by particle size and then separated, so the valuable mineral is kept and waste rock is removed. The separation method depends on how the mineral occurs in your ore.
We help you choose that method, then supply the full plant or the individual machines you are missing, sized from 1 to 50 tonnes per hour. Where needed, ore samples can be tested by the equipment manufacturer's laboratory before you commit.
Three separation processes

Flotation separation
Finely ground ore is mixed with water and reagents. Air bubbles carry the valuable mineral particles to the surface as a froth, which is skimmed off and thickened into concentrate. Flotation is the main method for fine-grained and sulphide ores.
Suited to
Sulphide gold ores, copper, lead, zinc and silver ores, and fine-grained complex ores.

Gravity separation
Gold is much heavier than the rock around it. Gravity equipment uses that density difference, with water and motion, to separate free gold without chemicals. It is simple to run and low cost, and often forms the first recovery stage.
Suited to
Free-milling and alluvial gold, oxide ores and coarse particles.

Magnetic separation
Magnetic separators pull magnetic minerals out of the ground ore. After two-stage crushing and grinding, the concentrate passes over magnetic drums for rough and fine separation. It is also used to remove iron from non-metallic minerals.
Suited to
Magnetite and other iron ores, and iron removal from quartz, silica and similar minerals.

A plant needs prepared ground, water, ponds and power. We time equipment delivery to your site works, then coordinate installation, commissioning and operator training with the manufacturer's engineers.

How do I choose between flotation, gravity and magnetic separation?
It depends on your ore. Gravity suits free and alluvial gold with coarse particles; flotation suits sulphide and fine-grained ores; magnetic separation suits iron ores. Many gold plants combine gravity and flotation. The best way to decide is to test an ore sample, which we can arrange through the manufacturer's laboratory. Compare the three processes.
